Did you know turkey has about 40% less fat than ground beef? That's what it said on the package of the turkey! Don't quote my numbers, but I do know it's leaner. These burgers are a much lighter version than a huge juicy cheeseburger and I promise they have just as much flavor!
Ingredients:
-1 lb ground turkey
-3 green onions, chopped
-1 Tbsp dried minced onion
-1 tsp sea salt
-2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
-1/4 cup bread crumbs
-1 tsp roasted garlic, minced
-1 Tbsp dijon mustard
-ground pepper to taste
-whole wheat slider buns
In a medium bowl mix the ground turkey with the remaining ingredients (other than the buns...).
From the meat form 6 mini patties the size of sliders. Pat down the middle of each patty to make sure it's even in thickness. Since sliders are so tiny the difference in thickness would really screw up cooking them evenly.
Place the patties on a grill heated to medium-high. The burgers only need to cook a few minutes on each side. Since turkey is low in fat content they can dry out easily, so watch them carefully!
I sprayed the buns with a little olive oil spray and plopped them on the grill for a minute before pulling everything off.
Assemble the sliders and add the toppings to your liking. I can be a little boring with my burgers and take them plain. Especially if they have as much flavor as these!
yum! i love making turkey burgers. i use ground turkey for everything. so good.
ReplyDeleteThis was great! Really enjoyed it - thanks for sharing. I do agree with another commenter who said it was a bit sweet - I will definitely reduce the sugar next time (I used regular granulated sugar). Can't wait for leftovers tomorrow.

I made this on the stove top with slightly less sugar and I was amazed at how delicious this recipe was. Will definitely be making again and again. Thank you.
